Hudsmith was formed as a concept by our creative director, David Wickham, who honed his unique style of photography over many years in the industry. As time went on, he started to see the value in heritage traditions, as well as in the quality of products and services produced from specialist makers. It was then that Hudsmith was born, with a few likeminded folk. Together, the team at Hudsmith continue to innovate and create branded work and passionate digital content that conveys this message, highlighting the very best of craftsmanship and creativity. We want to see heritage techniques move forward within the modern media landscape. What We Do

The Hudsmith Studio

Our team strives to foster an honest conversation that creates engagement through the value of authenticity and connection. It’s through our focus on the provenance of materials, atmosphere of location and the special craft of production that begins an ongoing narrative, rather than a product or completed service. Issue One of our magazine, titled ‘Foundations’, expands on this idea. We take a curated look at our commissions, showcase creatives and also feature editorials on travel, art and design. Issue One looks to the future, whilst also understanding the past and the skills that we are taking forward to share with the next generation, whose own journey is yet to begin. Meet the Team

Our team is made up of experienced and talented individuals, and driven by the vision of creative director – David Wickham. Much like Hudsmith itself, the team is compartmentalised to utilise the talents of each person. Our creative studio team ensure the vision and values of Hudsmith pervade every piece of commissioned work. Whilst the other half of Hudsmith entails a talented combination of creatives that funnel their passion for craft, tradition and style into digital content for our audience to enjoy.

David Wickham

Creative Director

David is an award winning photographer whose features include Italian Vogue, Conde Nast Traveler and Home & Gardens.

Mark Hammett


Mark is an award winning writer, director and producer of film, winning Best Film at the New York Film Festival.

Isaac Raffell

Digital Marketing & Design Director

Web designer, SEO specialist and marketing manager, Isaac’s expertise is the driving force behind our brand’s digital presence.

Alice Bello

Socials Director

Alice founded her social media company in London, before moving to Milan to lead engagement at a leading fashion house.

At Hudsmith, we know that true art stems from passion. This sentiment is exactly what makes our digital magazine and those feature in it, one-of-a-kind. We take inspiriation from what truly excites us, such as traditional culture, provenance of materials and innovative craftsmanship. This way, we can produce a captivating online experience for our audience to digest.  In Issue One of the magazine, around the theme of foundations, we look to those people shaping heritage craft today.
