A Hudsmith favourite, the beautiful Inner Hebridean island of Islay, is home to some of the best beaches we have visited. On the western coast of Islay, famous for its whisky distilleries and warm welcome, you will find 2 miles of the softest sand and incredible sunsets at Machir Bay Beach. The beach is accessed by a single-track road, is dog-friendly and has ample car parking. We arrived for sunset on summer solstice. After making our way through the dunes, we were met by a seemingly endless horizon and settled in for the golden hour.
